Actor - Dancer - Director
About
I am an actor, dancer, and director based in Washington, DC.
Originally from Hanover, New Hampshire, I found joy and community in theater when I was in grade school, and my adolescence centered around performance.
I attended Oberlin College, where I explored a broad range of dramatic arts, including directing, film acting, improv comedy, several genres of dance, and I even took a juggling class. Appearing in Angels in America at Oberlin was particularly formative. It tested me intellectually and it challenged both me and the audience to examine our beliefs about disease, queerness, faith, and much more.
While I grew as an artist at Oberlin, the school also instilled in me a sense of civic duty. When I wasn’t studying theater, I was volunteering at Oberlin’s food pantry and Americorps. Since opportunities for systemic change can often be found in government, I enrolled in politics classes and interned in the US Congress. I studied abroad twice, in Senegal and France, during which time I came to see myself as a global citizen in addition to a US citizen.
When COVID hit in my junior year, forcing a hiatus on in-person gatherings and performances, I doubled down on my political studies. I graduated with a major in Politics, minors in French and Theater, and a concentration in International Studies. Upon moving to DC, I joined the public service at the National Mediation Board. My work there has enabled me to learn an enormous amount about labor relations and conflict resolution, but I also missed performing.
This year, I decided to bring theater back into my life. I have started several projects in quick succession, including an uplifting season at the Maryland Renaissance Festival. With renewed passion and commitment, I am returning to my first love: performance.
